Fishing Conditions
You may have heard that the San Juan is dirty. It is. Lake turnover and our fall floods into Navajo, mixed with a swap to the 4×4 outlet has made for some dirty flows
That isn’t bad news, though; fishing has been really good with rigs on the dirtier side. Think leeches, SJ worms, mops, and even eggs in tandem, or as a top fly followed by a flashy midge.
There have also been fish rising to midges and dry fly fishing has been picking up.
Patterns/Bug
Junk flies: SJ worms, eggs, Bunny Leeches, Mayer’s Mini Leech, Chamois Leech, Mops in #10-16.
Rainbow warriors in 20-22
