Fishing Conditions
It’s about gametime above Vallecito. Get your hiking boots on, get out early, and get after it. Dry/droppers tend to be a good setup through the summer, but full nymph rigs in the deeper holes if nothing is rising. Look for caddis and stonefly hatches with mayflies showing up as well.
The outflow of the dam is high but steady, and fishing will be decent. With the higher flows below, fishing a heavy nymph rig with worms, stonefly nymphs, or a mop.

Nymphs: Prince nymphs 14-18, Pat’s Rubberlegs 8-12 or Jigged Pats 8-12, Black and Blue Copper Johns 14-18, Pheasant tails 18-22, Juju Baetis 18-20, Disco Midge 18-20, Rainbow Warrior 18-22. San Juan Worms.
Stonefly Dries: Stimulators #6-12, Rogue Foam Stone #4-8, Sofa Pillow #4-10, Chubbies 6-12.
