Fishing Conditions
The Animas is low and hot. Fish will be spooky. We are hoping and praying for rain, because if things don’t change soon, it could get ugly for the trout.
If you are going to fish the Animas, we would please ask you to observe Hoot Owl rules: no fishing after 11. Water temps are too hot and your released “he swam away fine” trout will probably die in the hot water.
Watch the water temps, and throw a terrestrial. Dry droppers have been good.
